2022 Vintage Cellarhands - Pikes Wines

We are seeking enthusiastic and motivated people for our 2021 vintage team. Tasks performed during vintage will include crushing, pressing, racking/ transfers, pump overs, barrel work and other related tasks.

To be successful you will be self-motivated and have a strong work ethic, attention to detail and be punctual. A genuine interest in wine and the winemaking process is highly desirable. At times you may be required to work autonomously and as part of a team. The ability to work shift and weekends from early February until late April is essential.

Pikes Wines is a family owned winery based in the Clare Valley with a focus on producing premium wines. The 100ha Polish Hill River estate vineyard has 18 different varieties, providing an opportunity to learn about different winemaking approaches.

Since 1990, Pikes has also teamed up with the Joyce family in Adelaide Hills to produce the Pike and Joyce label off of the 25ha Lenswood Vineyard. This vineyard is planted to Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris, Gruner Veltliner, Shiraz and Nebbiolo, all fruit being hand harvested and brought to Pikes Clare Valley winery for processing.

Vineyard Operator - Pikes Wines

We are seeking an experienced, self-motivated and energetic person to join our Viticulture team to assist in the operation of approximately 100ha of premium Estate vineyards in the Clare Valley.

This is a ‘hands-on’ vineyard role and a sound knowledge of all vineyard and viticultural operations is highly desirable. You will work closely within our small vineyard team and alongside our winemaking team to ensure the production of grapes to meet desired quality and volume requirements. The ability to maintain and operate various types of machinery is essential to the role and a Forklift License and Chemical Handling certificate would be advantageous.

As vineyard activities are seasonal and weather dependent there is a requirement that some work will be undertaken outside normal work hours, particularly during spraying and harvest.

Casual Roles - Pikes Beer Co., Pikes Wines & Slate Restaurant

Due to increasing demand, we are also looking for additional employees to work Casual shifts in multiple areas of our hospitality business. Successful applicants will work alongside our existing team members to ensure our guests have exceptional experiences across the Venue.

Brewery Door Sales Assistants

Food and beverage service within the Brewery and Beer Garden as well as functions and events.

Concierge Staff

Greeting customers as they arrive and assisting with QR code check in, managing bookings and walk-ins, assisting with queries and undertaking Covid Marshal duties.

Restaurant Food & Beverage Attendants

Food and beverage service within the Restaurant as well as functions and events.

Tasting Room Sales Assistants

Wine Tastings, sales and customer service. To be successful in these roles you will have:

- A friendly and welcoming demeanour

- A passion for food, wine, beer and hospitality

- Experience in a similar role would be an advantage

- Responsible service of Alcohol certification is essential for alcohol service positions

Shifts are predominately weekends for these casual positions and will including some evenings & events.
