Pikes Wines are looking for a Junior Sous Chef to join our small but busy SLATE Restaurant. Build a long term career in a well established and respected family business!  

We are looking for a Junior Sous Chef (or Chef de Partie looking to progress in this role and take the next step in their career). 

Reporting to the Head Chef/Restaurant Manager this role involves assisting the Head Chef in all activities in the kitchen, including; food preparation and production, menu development and training of kitchen staff.

You will cook and prepare high quality food and set an exceptional standard of service with your work ethic and passion for food

Support and encourage your team members to go above and beyond the expectations of their particular chef roles

Work closely with your Head Chef to effectively control stock and identify opportunities to maximise profitability

Assist in managing the kitchen team in the absence of the Head Chef. 

The successful candidate will have strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

Due to increasing demand, we are looking for additional employees to work shifts in SLATE Restaurant.

Successful applicants will work alongside our existing team members to ensure our guests have exceptional experiences across the Venue.

Ideal candidates will have:

- A friendly and welcoming demeanour

- A passion for food, wine, beer and hospitality

- Experience in a similar role would be an advantage, however not essential as training will be provided

- Responsible service of Alcohol certification is essential

Please note that shifts are predominately on weekends and Saturday nights and will include some events.

Commencing as a Casual position, there is the potential for a Permanent Part Time position to be offered to the appropriate candidate.

We are looking for beer loving individuals to join the existing team on our casual weekend roster.

The role involves sharing our passion for craft beer with customers at our Brewery Door and assisting with food service in our Garden area.
