Vintage 2024 Cellar Hands

Pikes Wines have positions available for Cellar Hands to play a vital part in undertaking the physical aspects of making wine during vintage (harvest). This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience working with multiple varietals from two different wine regions all in the one beautiful Clare Valley location. 

The vintage period is expected to begin around Feb 2024, with the length dependent on harvest conditions (usually around 8 weeks). These roles are casual positions helping with processing of grapes and wine products and will end once the workload drops.

In this role you will assist with basic cellar operations across varying sections within the winery including, but not limited to:

- Crushing and pressing grapes in winery

- Transfer operations

- Filtration

- Sampling

- Confined space tasks

- Working at heights

- Grape Receival

- Forklift operations (desirable not essential)

To be successful in our vintage positions you must:

- Be able to work up to 12-hour shifts for 6 days, over a 7-day roster including weekend and shift work. 

- Be able to work in an outdoor environment, working at heights and in confined spaces.

- Be part of a team, have good English communication skills and demonstrate a safety mindset.

- A genuine interest in wine and the winemaking process is highly desirable. 

- Previous vintage experience is highly considered but not a must as all training is provided.

Front of House | Slate Restaurant

Due to increasing demand, we are looking for additional employees to work shifts in SLATE Restaurant.

Successful applicants will work alongside our existing team members to ensure our guests have exceptional experiences across the Venue.

Ideal candidates will have:

- A friendly and welcoming demeanour

- A passion for food, wine, beer and hospitality

- Experience in a similar role would be an advantage, however not essential as training will be provided

- Responsible service of Alcohol certification is essential

Please note that shifts are predominately on weekends and Saturday nights and will include some events.

Commencing as a Casual position, there is the potential for a Permanent Part Time position to be offered to the appropriate candidate.

Brewery Door Sales Assistant | Casual Positions

WPikes Beer Company is a 100% family owned craft brewery based at Pikes Wines’ Polish Hill River Estate in the Clare Valley.

We are looking for beer loving individuals to join the existing team on our casual weekend roster.

If you have a friendly, engaging personality and an interest in craft beer, then Pikes Beer Co. are keen to hear from you!

The role involves sharing our passion for craft beer with customers at our Brewery Door and assisting with food service in our Garden area.
