2017 ‘The E.W.P.’ Reserve Shiraz Magnum

Named after Pikes co-founder and patriarch Edgar Walter Pike. 100% estate grown, this Reserve Shiraz is comprised of 9 parcels from different blocks of the estate, with a small amount of whole bunch fermentation is used each vintage to coax the more aromatic and delicate characteristics. The cooler vintage of 2017 provided fruit of amazing quality and balance.

Colour: A deep cherry red.

Aroma: An attractive and complex nose of aromatic spice, liquorice and black fruit balanced with a hint of charry French oak.

Palate: A classic example of our Polish Hill expression of Shiraz. Medium plate weight featuring red and black bramble fruits, hints of white pepper and 5 spice. A balanced tannin structure providing excellent length.

Summary: A classic vintage of ‘The E.W.P’, this wine is delicious now, but could easily cellar for up to 20 years. A perfect match with chargrilled dry aged eye fillet.
