Appearance: Medium to deep red.
Aroma: Attractive, fragrant red and black currant fruit with gentle aromas of crushed violets with hints of cedar and cigar box – the oak very much in the background as usual.
Palate: Medium bodied, displaying good concentration of fruit, subtle French oak, well balanced acidity and lovely, fine tannins. The length of flavor and overall elegance of the wine are highlights.
Summary: A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (75%) and Cabernet Franc (25%) – the Franc adds lovely perfume as well as some flesh to the wine. Very enjoyable as a young wine, but it will take 7-10+ years of cellaring very easily. Veal cutlets would be a very suitable dish to serve with this wine.
