2002 'THE EWP' RESERVE SHIRAZ
“The E.W.P.” is named after the patriarch of the family - Edgar Walter Pike. Edgar has been a grape grower since the early 1960’s and has been an integral part of the development of our vineyards and winery since we began in 1984. Edgar is still well and truly with us and continues to contribute to our business on a daily basis.
Colour: Deep Red, almost black
Aroma: Complex, rich aromas of super rip dark berries, chocolate and a dollop of classy French Oak.
Palate: The palate is almost a mirror image of the nose with some lushness provided by the small amount of Viognier blended with the Shiraz. Has good acidity and fine tannins to ensure a long life.
Summary: Drink in 4-5 years and over the subsequent decade.
