2006 'THE EWP' RESERVE SHIRAZ
“The E.W.P.” is named after the patriarch of the family - Edgar Walter Pike. Edgar was a grape grower since the early 1960’s and has been an integral part of the development of our vineyards and winery since we began in 1984.

Colour: Deep Red, almost black
Aroma: Super ripe blackberry and plum with spice, coffee grounds and dark chocolate. Also has notes of roasted meats and grilled nuts. Quite complex.
Palate: The palate is rich, soft and powerful with chocolate, cherry and charry oak the main drivers, backed up nicely by silky tannins and enough acidity to keep the palate focused and finish long and persistent.
Summary: A complex wine typical of the E.W.P. style that is emerging. It has power, but is not a blockbuster. Under screwcap it will still be drinking nicely in 20 years time
