2004 PREMIO SANGIOVESE MERLOT
Colour: Medium to deep red/crimson.
Aroma: Complex aromas of ripe black cherries,
satsuma plums and damp earth all nicely balanced by some high quality
charry French oak.
Palate: The palate displays the same ripe, dark fruits as the
aroma would suggest and has all the texture one would expect from a
Sangiovese based blend.
Summary: The tannins are fine and savoury and the acidity
bright, suggesting a match with something like veal osso bucco or roast
pork from a wood oven. Drink over next 3-5 years.
