2009 “The Dogwalk” Cabernet Merlot

Aroma
Attractive aromas of crushed violets, black cherries and dark chocolate, with a just a touch of “charry” French oak complimenting the fragrant fruit characters.
Palate
A medium bodied palate of ripe, dark fruits, leafy Cabernet and a little dark chocolate sit nicely with the very soft tannins, subtle oak and balanced acidity. Quite an elegant wine.
Summary
A really good wine from a top Clare vintage. Good to drink now for such a young wine, but will take 5-10 years cellaring without any problems at all. Grilled Sirloin medium rare. Great value red!
