Wines
2011 ‘Traditionale’ Riesling
Colour
Brilliant pale green colour
Aroma
Spotlessly clean and quite expressive, displaying citrus florals, apple and subtle notes of stone fruits and slate.
Palate
Crisp, fresh and dry, loaded with “waxy” lemon and grapefruit flavours wrapped around a core of well balanced mineral acidity.
Summary
Another really good Pikes Riesling from what was quite a challenging vintage. Makes a lovely drink as a fresh, young white wine, but will take 5-7 years in the bottle for those who like bottle aged Riesling. Still the world’s best Oyster wine.
