2015 “Gill’s Farm” Viognier
The first impression is of subtle aromas of yellow peach, apricot and apple along with some floral elements. A second sniff
reveals subtle barrel fermentation characters and some creaminess coming from the time spent on yeast lees post ferment.
It has a medium bodied, soft palate displaying the stone fruit mentioned above and subtle richness – the layers of texture
building the more you get into it.
Viognier is often misunderstood by many producers. Our style is quite restrained and tends to be a bit leaner than many making it a lot more food friendly. Pretty much ready to drink upon release, but 2-3 years in the cellar won’t detract at all. I like this wine with a quality roast free range chicken. Don’t serve this wine too cold!
