It has been a very good year for the vines in the Clare Valley. Moderate, even weather was evident in the berry development and ripening stages leading to good bunch development. Despite very dry January, February and March months the vines have managed well and lapped up the 40-60mm of rain that fell in late January. When harvest started it all came with a rush as many varieties ripened at the same time, causing some late nights and need for tank space in the cellar.
Early stages, but the quality looks very good especially for Riesling lovers but the reds also look good too.
