| PIKES LUCCIO PINOT GRIGIO BLEND 2008
"Against all the odds, this blend works; the wine does not lose it's grigio identity, mainly because of its drying lemony acidity on the finish.".
James Halliday Australian Wine Companion 2010
PIKES LUCCIO PINOT GRIGIO BLEND 2005
"The aromas of this Clare Valley blend of Pinot Grigio, Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon reflect the grapes. Its floral, straw, spicy aromas have some of the citrus of Semillon, the capsicum of Sauvignon and the potpourri of Pinot Grigio. A dry finish. Bargain".
88 Points - Huon Hooke, Good Living, September 2006.
"The flowery fruit on the nose has an underlying mineral shale character. This complex mix comes through on the palate, the greengage and lime overlaid by a mineral flintiness. Lovely mix between fruit sweetness and tingling fresh acidity. Racy length".
92 Points - Derek Smedley MW, London International Wine Fair,2006
"Pikes make exceptional riesling and very good shiraz and have been experimenting with varieties such as viognier, pinot grigio, sangiovese and tempranillo - with encouraging results. This white blend is pretty smart. It's pinot grigio (59%), sauvignon blanc (38%) and semillon (3%) with the dominant varietal character being very much pinot grigio. It is supple, round and full-flavoured with attractive viscous texture, a delightful juiciness, savoury, pear-skin flavours and a gentle, lingering finish".
Wine of the Week - Peter Forrestal, Quaff.com.au, July 2006.
"Pale straw. Lightly fragrant – apple and pears. Italian Mediterranean in style. Medium bodied, succulent and luscious. A medium bodied dry white wine with lively acidity and good length. Drink now over the next year or so. Try with oysters kilpatrick"
Paul Ippolito - Paul Ippolito Wine Talk, June 2006.
"A delicious tangy white from Pikes. The 'Luccio' is a blend of 59% Pinot Grigio, 38% Sauvignon Blanc and 3% Semillon. Unoaked it is inspired by the whites of Italy. Honeyed stone fruits and lime on the nose. It's crisp and fresh. Really tangy with lively limey stone fruits and some grassy Sauvignon Blanc. It's full of flavour, dry but not overly with lovely clean fresh fruit. A delicious Summer white and a good food style too".

PIKES LUCCIO PINOT GRIGIO BLEND 2004
“Fragrant, minerally gooseberry with flowery spice. There is an exciting mix of fruits on the palate, first greengage then melon, then fresh lime and all these overlaid with a slate flintiness. Fragrant flowery length”.
91 Points. Derek Smedley MW– Australia Day Tasting, London , February 2006.
PIKES LUCCIO PINOT GRIGIO BLEND 2003
“Very pale bright straw-green. Delicate aromas of mint, dried herbs, nettles and sage, with a suggestion of wheat meal. Even and savory on the plate, with nutty, citrus, peach and melon flavors. Finishes reserved and long. Some would describe this as a good "food wine".
Liquor and Lifestyle Magazine, December 2004.
“Even before winesmiths have worked out how best to grow and make these varieties, some of the more enlightened and daring of them are experimenting with blends, to punch the gastronomic end or experiment that was not quite what is was supposed to be. This wine as a good example”.
Wine of the Week – The New Zealand Herald, June 2004.
