Colour: Medium green/gold.
Aroma: Gentle stone-fruit, pear and green melon are the main drivers here; with just a whisper of mealy/biscuit-like oak. A swirl of cream and struck match evident too.
Palate: Medium weight and quite restrained with the stone-fruit leading the way. High-quality French oak adds complexity, structure and a little roasted hazelnut flavor on the finish.
Summary: Despite our investment and success with Chardonnay in the Adelaide Hills at Pike & Joyce we still happily persist with our Clare version as many of our long-time customers love this wine. Drink now or hold for 2-4 years. Should work well with linguine with a creamy smoked chicken sauce.
