Medium to deep red.
Displaying our typical dark cherry and blueberry fruit with hints of chocolate, graphite and some subtle spicy/peppery notes. A swirl of subtle and slightly charry French oak adds some interest as well.
The medium bodied palate has layers of rich black cherry and blueberry initially, with perhaps a little plum and graphite there too, before some fine, savoury tannin kicks in at the end adding length and structure.
Clare Valley Shiraz does tend to live in the shadow cast by our southern colleagues in the Barossa and McLaren Vale, but we produce terrific medium bodied wines year after year that age slowly and gracefully and, in many instances, at a fraction of the price. Delicious to drink now and the next 7 -10 years. Try this with hare braised in red wine.
