2008 'THE RED MULLET'
Shiraz 79%, Tempranillo 8%, Mourvedre 7%, Grenache 6%.
Colour: Deep red, purple tints
Aroma: Super ripe blueberries and plums are the main drivers here with hints of anise and dark chocolate. Also shows just a hint of our Clare minty regional character. Oak very much in the background.
Palate: Full and rich with loads of ripe berries, plum and chocolate/mocha flavours. The finish is soft and rounded with fine tannins and balanced acid adding some texture and length.
Summary: Perhaps a little more serious wine than the name suggests. While providing affordable every day drinking, this wine definitely delivers plenty on the quality front. Drink now and next 3-5 years.
